From Henry Hickman, President and CEO of OneWorldSIS: With the recent bankruptcy news of Anthology, one of the oldest student solution vendors, I wanted to provide my perspective. While I have always believed the debt burdens of the some of the legacy student solution vendors were not sustainable in the long run, I also felt that being tied to older architecture severely limited their ability to truly take advantage of evolving technology. The cost of moving to newer platform technologies and migrating existing clients, while also trying to support legacy users for a period time, has proven too difficult for most vendors. This has left many educational institutions with inefficient systems and higher operating costs, and the inevitability of having to migrate to something new in one way or another.
In founding OneWorldSIS, we envisioned that by focusing on building the end-to-end student lifecycle capabilities with Microsoft’s transformative technology vision, we could deliver enterprise functionality, interoperability, generative AI, and future-proof extendibility at a lower cost of acquisition, ongoing support and maintenance.
All of our client institutions, starting with our first Saas institution in 2016, are on the latest release of OneWorldSIS and the Microsoft Power Platform, including any customizations, and all are able to take advantage of today’s transformative technology built within the eco system, including native Copilot generative AI.
We are proud of that track record and know that our client institutions will be able to continue to evolve well into the future while focusing on their true mission, to better serve their student constituents.
